About

BIO

Rhonda Nelson is a speaker, author, nonprofit leader, and nationally recognized patient advocate whose work is changing the conversation about what's possible for women in midlife.

Known for creating conversations that feel both deeply personal and immediately practical, Rhonda has a gift for making audiences feel understood while challenging them to think differently about what's possible. Through honest storytelling, practical wisdom, and a refreshing blend of warmth, wit, and straight talk, she helps women build the confidence to embrace life's unexpected transitions and create a future they never imagined possible. Whether she's speaking to a room of hundreds or having a conversation with one woman, her message is consistent: confidence isn't something you're born with—it's something you build.

As Chair of the Board of Directors for the Allergy & Asthma Network, Rhonda is a respected national advocate working to improve education, expand access to care, and elevate the patient voice. After living with Aspirin-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD) for more than two decades, she understands firsthand the frustration of misdiagnosis, navigating the healthcare system, and learning to advocate for yourself. Her lived experience, combined with years of nonprofit leadership, has made her a trusted voice for patients, healthcare professionals, and organizations across the country.

Rhonda's passion for helping women reclaim their confidence extends far beyond healthcare. She is the founder of Estrogen Lounge™, a growing community and platform dedicated to changing the conversation around midlife. Through candid conversations, shared experiences, and practical encouragement, she inspires women to rediscover their identity, embrace change with confidence, and realize they are far from finished. The conversations she leads through Estrogen Lounge have become the foundation for many of the messages she now shares with audiences across the country.

She is also the author of A Different Life, an honest and often humorous memoir inspired by a life that has been anything but ordinary. As the wife of Wayne Nelson of Little River Band, Rhonda has spent more than two decades navigating the unique realities of life on the road. Those experiences have given her a distinctive perspective on marriage, identity, resilience, faith, and building a meaningful life outside the spotlight. The stories she shares from that life have become some of the most memorable moments in both her presentations and her writing—not because they're about celebrity, but because they're about life.

Throughout her career, Rhonda has championed causes that matter—from advocating for patients with chronic illness to serving children in foster care and creating communities where women feel seen, valued, and empowered. Every chapter of her own journey has reinforced the belief that life's detours don't diminish our purpose—they often reveal it.

Whether speaking to women's conferences, corporate audiences, nonprofit organizations, healthcare groups, leadership events, or faith-based communities, Rhonda leaves audiences with more than inspiration. She equips them with a renewed sense of confidence, practical perspective, and the courage to move forward believing that their next chapter can become their most meaningful one yet.

Rhonda & Wayne

For more than two decades, Rhonda has shared life with her husband, Wayne Nelson, lead singer and bass player of Little River Band. Together, they've experienced a world few people ever get to see—one filled with music, travel, unforgettable people, and extraordinary opportunities.

But beyond the concerts and backstage moments, they've built a life grounded in something far more meaningful: serving others. Whether supporting charitable organizations, advocating for patients, strengthening families, or quietly helping people through life's hardest seasons, they've always believed that influence carries a responsibility to give back.

The unique experiences that have come with Wayne's career have shaped Rhonda's perspective, but they do not define her. Instead, they've deepened her passion for connecting with people from every walk of life, listening to their stories, and using her own experiences to encourage, educate, and inspire.

Together, Rhonda and Wayne continue to use the platform they've been given with gratitude, believing that success is measured not by the stages you've stood on, but by the lives you've helped along the way.

The Book That Started It All

A Different Life is more than a memoir—it's an invitation into a life few people ever get to witness. With honesty, humor, and heart, Rhonda shares the unforgettable stories, unexpected moments, and life lessons that came from living behind the scenes of one of rock music's most enduring bands while building a life rooted in faith, family, and purpose.

Filled with personal photographs, cherished family recipes, and stories never before shared, the book offers readers an authentic look at the experiences that shaped Rhonda's perspective on resilience, relationships, gratitude, and finding joy through life's unexpected detours.

Today, A Different Life has become the foundation for Rhonda's signature storytelling presentations, where those same unforgettable experiences inspire audiences to laugh, reflect, and see their own lives with fresh perspective. What begins as stories from an extraordinary journey becomes a conversation about resilience, connection, purpose, and the choices that shape every season of life.
